Bagni di Lucca and the surrounding area

Lucca’s territory extends north as far as the Garfagnana area, east as far as Versilia and west as far as the province of Pistoia. One of Italy’s most beautiful and famous towns of art, it is surrounded by almost fully intact 16th century defensive walls and hosts an abundance of churches and monuments. The town’s history is fascinating, with a cultural background including Roman origins and periods of French rule. In addition to the charms of the town itself, Lucca is surrounded by splendid villas.
